  What the Bible
  Says About.......

   Salvation

What We Believe

We believe in one eternal God, manifest in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19).

We believe in the deity and Lordship of Jesus Christ: born of a virgin, crucified, buried, risen from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and coming again in glory!

We believe that the Bible is the holy, inspired, inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3:16).

We believe repentance -- a change from ungodly thinking and behavior to righteous thinking and behavior -- is a necessary step to salvation.

We believe that by faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ, we may receive: salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9; Colossians 1:14; Revelation 1:5), deliverance from demonic power and bondage (Colossians 1:13; 2:14-15), and healing (Matthew 8:16-17; I Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15).

We believe in commemorating the Atonement in open communion (I Corinthians 11:23-34).

We believe that we enter into the Kingdom of God here and now when we are saved (Mark 21:15; Luke 17:21; Romans 14:17). This entry is accompanied by a changed life (II Corinthians 5:17), the fruits of which will be seen in our relationships to: 1) Christ (John 14:15); 2) delegated authority (Hebrews 13:17); and 3) others (Ephesians 5:21). As we continue to walk with God, the Holy Spirit continues the maturing, sanctifying process in our hearts. (Ephesians 4:11-16).

We believe in baptism in water by immersion as: 1) a necessary step of obedience to the Lord (Matthew 28:19; II Peter 3:21), and 2) a place of identification with the Lord in His death and new life (Romans 6:3-4).

We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as the enduing with God's power (Acts 1:8) subsequent to salvation (Acts 8:14-17: 19:1-6), as evidenced by speaking in unknown tongues (Acts 2:4; 10:45-46; 19:6).

We believe in the Second Coming of Christ (Matthew 25:13) and the judgement of believers unto eternal life with Jesus, and unbelievers into eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Revelation 22:12; 20:12-15).
